I was injured in training and I was honorably discharged with medical conditions. I lost a very close friend in Vietnam and many good friends I took care of through training. My wife and I actively opposed the war to bring our military people home. We live in a small community, so there wasn't anything radical. If I would have seen someone burn our flag, I would of bashed their head! I remember arguing with people that blamed our GI'S for the war and I told them to go spit on the elected officials that wouldn't allow our young people to win that war because they wanted to continue to make money off that mess over there. I'll continue to tell people the truth about Vietnam and our brave soldiers that served their Country. God Bless you all! I wish I could of helped. |

AN HOA JUST THE AIR STRIP, THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD I WAS ABLE TO WALK A BIT ON TI THE NEXT TIME I WILL WALK FROM AN HOA TO LIBERTY BRIDGE. WHICH IS NO LONGER THERE. YOU CAN SEE SOME POLES THAT HELD THE BRIDGE UP THE RIVER IS 2 OR 3 TIMES WIDER.STILL HOT AND THE KIDS STILL TRY TO SELL WHAT THEY HAVE BUT NOT THE SAME STUF WE BOUGHT BACK THEN. Monthly Personel Rosters (MPRs) and have them complete througth 1970. If you would like to work them into your site in some way, I will be happy to forward the MS word docs to you either by disk or E-mail. Also have transcribed several of the after-action reports such a JACKSTAY, UNION I, UNION II, SWIFT, and more. I was detached to Delta Co. on Nov.'66 and was assigned to the 3rd platoon 3rd squad and 3rd fire team. You can say I was the rear point of the whole Company, scary!!! I can understand why the survivors, like my dad's brother and my mom's brother, won't talk about it. I didn't know much about Vietnam until this year in my history class. My teacher has showed us a lot and helped us to understand the reasoning behind going to this war. I want to say good job to all the men and women who put their lives in danger in this war, and any war for that matter. |
